Surviving the early weeks physically and emotionally

All the information is given in a completely unbiased manner.  We are there to advise you what your options are, but not to sway in one direction or another.  This course is NOT a lecture.  It is a completely interactive learning experience which is designed to keep you motivated and inspired.  We will take regular breaks and will often split up into smaller groups to explore the issues at hand.  As there is a physical aspect to the course, it is recommended that comfortable, loose clothing be worn throughout the weekend.

One-to-One Session

At Lifestyle Antenatal, we fully understand that regular antenatal classes are not ideal for all prospective parents.  Many parents would prefer a more personalised and private service in the comfort of their own home.  Maybe you are unable to commit to an entire weekend or to attend regular weekly sessions offered by other organisations, or maybe one or both of you is already a parent and you have more specific needs.   It may be that this is your second or subsequent child, following a traumatic first birth and you want to discuss ways of improving your outcome, second time around.  Whatever the reason, we will do our best to provide you with the information you require, at a time that suits you.

What do we get ?

These sessions are costed on an individual basis (* see below for breakdown) and will typically involve:

bullet

Initial telephone consultation with your tutor to discuss exactly what you hope to get out of the session.

bullet

One 4-6 hour antenatal session (or split into 2 sessions), to include some postnatal topics as required.

bullet

A complete pack of antenatal and postnatal information for you to keep.

bullet

Ongoing support from your tutor - via email or telephone after your session.

Alternatively, if you and a friend would like to have a private antenatal session together in a home setting, this service can also be offered at a discounted rate.

*  these sessions are costed on the basis of 30-35 per hour of direct teaching time (price depends on timing of sessions), plus travel expenses at a rate of 40p per mile travelled from the KT19 area and any parking fees applicable.

Short Evening Course

Our 4 week non-residential courses take place in the teacher's home in Epsom, Surrey.  Tea, coffee and refreshments are provided throughout each session.  This package would include:

11 hours of antenatal tuition (due to the shorter course length, there is less time to cover postnatal topics, but breastfeeding and basic care IS covered).  See course overview for details.  You will also receive:

bullet
